Sixteen-year-old Harmony Eldridge has spent most of her life learning how to stay unnoticed. Raised within the castle walls after the fire that took her parents, she’s careful, controlled, and determined to keep the full extent of her abilities hidden. More than anything, she’s ready to move on from the life that’s already taken so much from her—even if that means leaving the world of Guardians behind for good.

 

But as a new school year begins, things start to shift.

 

Beneath the excitement of Aisling’s hundredth anniversary, tension simmers. The forest surrounding the academy grows restless. Creatures stir. And the staff—including those closest to her—are hiding more than they’re willing to admit.

 

And despite every effort to remain in the background, Harmony can’t seem to stay there. Moments she can’t take back. Attention she didn’t ask for. Eyes that linger a second too long.

 

When a series of strange events begin to unravel the illusion of safety Aisling was built on, Harmony finds herself drawn further into the very world she’s been trying to leave behind. The more she tries to keep her distance, the harder it becomes to ignore it—and the part of herself she’s spent years holding back.
